Outside Opportunity: Volunteers Needed

First UU Church member Bob Bosco volunteers at the "Coffee Garage" of the Holy Family Church (1715 Izard Street) which is part of the Hope of the Poor Ministry. Volunteers serve coffee, hot chocolate, and oatmeal to about 50-60 homeless people each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 10:30am to noon.

If you're interested in helping, please contact Bob at boscob3@icloud.com. He is there on Fridays, but says the group needs help the other days too. Bob can give you all the information you'll need to start helping with this important work.

Protect Our Rights Training:  “It’s time to protect the right to an abortion in Nebraska“

Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30pm at Second Unitarian Church  (3012 S 119th St, Omaha) AND by Zoom. Pizza at church. Everyone please register for this training whether attending in person or by Zoom. Register by clicking here

Protect Our Rights is a coalition of Nebraskans and local reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations working to return the right to make important decisions around abortion care to patients and their health care providers, not the government.

Most Nebraskans support safe, legal abortion and every one of you is crucial to protecting our rights. We need your help to raise awareness among this majority so we can collect the needed signatures and turn out voters to protect our rights.

To learn about the ballot initiative, different ways to share your support, as well as best practices on how to talk about this initiative and bring new supporters into the fold, come join us at 6:30pm on Wed, Feb. 28 at Second Unitarian Church (or by Zoom).
