Outside Opportunity: Online Film Salon Voices from the Holy Land Presented by Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East and Independent Jewish Voices - Canada


Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East UUJME co-hosts a monthly virtual film. You watch the virtual movie during the month at your convenience and join the virtual discussion on the 3rd Sunday at 2pm (CT).  You can watch the movie and not attend the discussion or vice versa. Community Information: Hearing Impaired?

The Nebraska Commission on Deaf and Hard of Hearing has a program very helpful program called NSTEP.

Through it any Nebraskan who is hearing impaired can apply for a voucher up to $1000 to purchase a new cell phone that will pair with the person's hearing aids.

The process takes several steps 1.complete application. 2. Hearing specialist verifies hearing loss. 3. Applicant submits to NCDHH for review. 4. If approved, NCDH sends applicant a voucher. 5. Applicant redeems voucher with their cell phone carrier.

Connect with your UUA Board of Trustees, and the leaders from around our Association who serve as Trustees, to discuss issues and topics of importance across our Association. Outside Opportunity: Volunteers Needed


First UU Church member Bob Bosco volunteers at the "Coffee Garage" of the Holy Family Church (1715 Izard Street) which is part of the Hope of the Poor Ministry. Volunteers serve coffee, hot chocolate, and oatmeal to about 50-60 homeless people each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 10:30am to noon.

 

If you're interested in helping, please contact Bob at boscob3@icloud.com. He is there on Fridays, but says the group needs help the other days too. Bob can give you all the information you'll need to start helping with this important work. 

Outside Opportunity: OTOC Fundraiser


Omaha Together One Community's Spring Fundraiser is Sunday, April 28th, from 4pm to 7:30pm at a new location: Firefighter's Hall, 6005 Grover St. Come enjoy appetizers, desserts, music, and the silent auction while chatting with members from various denominations in OTOC.
