YRUU - Wednesday Night Middle/High School Youth Group
(open to 7th-12th graders, church membership not required)
YRUU (Young Religious Unitarian Universalists) meets during the school year on Wednesday evenings from 7:00–8:30 PM and is a joint youth ministry program of First Unitarian Church of Omaha and Second Unitarian Church of Omaha. The program alternates meetings between the two churches. For the 2026-27 school year, we are meeting at First Unitarian on 1st, 3rd, & 5th Wednesdays and at Second Unitarian on 2nd & 4th Wednesdays.
YRUU provides a welcoming, inclusive community where youth can build friendships, explore their identities and beliefs, develop leadership skills, and engage with the world around them. Through discussions, games, creative activities, service projects, and shared experiences, youth help shape a community grounded in mutual respect, acceptance, and Unitarian Universalist values.
This year, YRUU is also preparing for a Boston Pilgrimage in summer 2027! This special opportunity will invite participating youth to explore the history and roots of Unitarian Universalism, visit significant historical sites, and reflect on their own place in our evolving religious tradition. Youth and families are participating in planning and fundraising as we prepare for this meaningful experience together.
